Petrosino, where viticulture has been handed down for generations, is characterized by the highest production of grapes per inhabitant.
The most appreciated varieties of grape grow in this area: the international Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah; the classical Catarratto and Grecanico and especially the local grape varieties Nero d’Avola and Grillo.
Grillo grape variety, in particular, is cultivated almost all along the coast. Grillo wine, with its bright light-yellow colour, its green hues and its Mediterranean flavour, is the perfect representation of Petrosino.
