Territory – Origins of Petrosino

Petrosino is an amazing municipality in the Province of Trapani, on the extreme west side of Sicily. Located along 10 km of coast between Marsala and Mazara del Vallo, Petrosino is suitable for an alternative tourism. An area where it is possible to harmonize the rural and maritime traditions with the many sport activities related to the sea (kitesurf, windsurf, snorkeling, diving, etc.) and the peace of the fishing village. Petrosino has more vineyards than any other city in Italy and it significantly contributes to the production of first-class wines thanks to the connection between the vineyards and the sea that makes unique the experience of tasting local products. An area with a deep rural identity that it is possible discover visiting the typical “bagli”, enjoying the contemplation of the unspoilt area of “margi” or tasting the local organic products. A rich calendar of events that presents the Carnival as the most important appointment for the town, followed by a well-matched calendar of summer events that aims to promote the area and its uniqueness. An interesting heritage yet to be discovered.
